INDESCAT awarded yesterday the Business and Sports Awards on its sixth edition, to Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Internationalization and Partnership, with the aim of recognizing the four most important sports projects in the world in these areas. The act, conducted by the extreme sportsman, communicator and youtuber Valentí Sanjuan, was held in ESADECREAPOLIS and was attended by nearly 200 people from the institutional, business and sports field.
The event was attended by the cluster's president, Anna Pruna; the counselor of the Presidency of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Elsa Artadi; the mayor of Sant Cugat del Vallès, Carmela Fortuny; the General Secretary of the Sport Department of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Gerard Figueras; the Managing Director of ACCIÓ, Joan Romero; the deputy delegate of Sports of the Diputació de Barcelona, Maite Fandos; the president of the UFEC, Gerard Esteva; and the president of the Fundació Catalana per a l'Esport, Pere Sust, among other authorities and representatives of the sports industry.
The Business and Sports Award for Innovation, which valued projects or products that stand out for the novelty they bring and the acceptance they are having in their market, was awarded to Sports & Landscape. It is a technology by the company that has the same name for the recycling and reuse of materials of artificial grass football fields. Ignasi Senabre, of the company based in Sant Cugat, was proud to receive a prize in the city and stated that "it is necessary to innovate, but taking into account waste management and that this also implies a concern for environment ".
Suiff received the Business and Sports Award for Entrepreneurship, which recognizes the start-up created from July 2015 on with the most potential during 2018. Suiff has created the first system to measure strength training, with dynamic and static exercises, it shows both the metrics of the activity carried out and tutored training plans adapted to the needs of each user.
For Montserrat Subirana, "we worked to create a system that could measure different parameters in the muscle area, as there were none." For Subirana, "the goal is to first reach personal trainers and sportsmen once the launch has been made - early in 2019 - to jump as quickly as possible to the international market.
The Business and Sports Awards for Partnership, which evaluates the best collaborative project that takes advantage of the knowledge of the members, was delivered to the Smartfootball project. It is a project by four companies for the promotion of Salou as a destination for sports tourism: Smartfootball; the Complex Esportiu Futbol Salou, that provides the facilities; Tecnifutbol, the sports academy and Mare Nostrum Cup, for the event organization. For the promoters of the project "we have contributed to changing the image of Salou so that it is a destination of sports tourism and we have done it by providing the best of each one of the collaborators."
Finally, the Business and Sports Award for Internationalization, which highlights the largest international projection, was this year to Poliwin, a company that offers a wide range of services, products and solutions for the management of the facilities. It started its international expansion by 2015 in a trade mission to Mexico organized by INDESCAT, and now has activity in 8 countries. For Marta
