How can sports companies design, manufacture and distribute products that last longer and generate less waste? To address this challenge, INDESCAT and AFYDAD will present the Circularity Guide for the Sports Sector on 3 December, a practical resource designed to facilitate the adoption of more sustainable production and consumption models across the sports industry.

The presentation will take place from 10 to 11 am at THE VENUE (Barcelona) and will be available both in person and online. After the session, from 11 to 11.30 am, attendees will have the opportunity to network, exchange ideas and build connections with participating companies and organisations.

The guide is the result of the CIRCUESPORT project, which has analysed the level of circularity within the Catalan sports industry, identified good practices at both local and international levels, and validated them with companies associated with INDESCAT and AFYDAD. The outcome is a tool designed to help businesses identify opportunities for improvement and move towards more circular management of their products and processes.

15+1 good practices to move towards a more circular industry

The event will introduce the guide's content, which brings together 15+1 good practices in circularity, organised according to the different stages of a product's life cycle and illustrated with examples from sports industry companies that are already implementing them.

The publication also includes a self-assessment checklist to help each company identify its current position and determine which practices are most relevant to its activity. In addition, the session will cover the main circularity and sustainability regulations affecting sports products, as well as the funding opportunities offered by the Agència de Residus de Catalunya to support circularity projects.

The session is primarily aimed at manufacturers and distributors of sports products and equipment, as well as companies and organisations that form part of their value chain.

An opportunity to discover resources and launch new initiatives

The presentation also aims to provide a starting point for companies in the sector to discover practical tools and funding opportunities that can help them integrate sustainability and circularity measures into their day-to-day operations.

Attendance is free of charge, with prior registration required. The event can be attended either in person or online.

The CIRCUESPORT project is promoted by INDESCAT and AFYDAD, with technical implementation by inèdit and the support of the Agència de Residus de Catalunya.
