Following the close of the nomination period for the 2026–2030 INDESCAT Board of Directors elections, a single candidacy has been submitted, headed by the current President, Anna Pruna.

In accordance with the approved electoral calendar, and as no other candidacies have been submitted, the Electoral Board will officially proclaim the new Board of Directors on 10 July, with Anna Pruna continuing to serve as President.

Nearly one hundred professionals have taken part in four working group sessions organised by the cluster in recent weeks, focusing on key topics such as talent, health and performance, sports marketing, sponsorship, and innovation in international sporting events.

More than 10,000 professionals from the sports industry gathered in Madrid from 17 to 19 June to discuss the major trends shaping the future of the sector. INDESCAT attended the event to gain first-hand insights into the opportunities that will define the future of the sports ecosystem.

The digital transformation of the sports industry is entering a new phase. Beyond the digitisation of content, the sector is exploring new ways to engage fans, generate revenue, and deliver differentiated experiences. In this context, immersive technologies, virtual reality, and interactive environments are emerging as one of the key trends set to redefine how sport is experienced, consumed, and monetised. We spoke with Into Reality to understand the role these technologies could play in the future of the sports industry.

INDESCAT, the sports industry cluster of Catalonia, brought together nearly 200 professionals from the Catalan sports ecosystem at the closing event of its 15th anniversary. The event served to announce the creation of the new Circle of Economy and Sports Industry, award the INDESCAT Sports Business 2026 Prize to the Johan Cruyff Institute, and pay tribute to Sylvana Mestre for her career and contribution to the development of sport. The gathering also provided an opportunity to reflect on the major future challenges of the sector through two keynote talks focused on artificial intelligence, innovation, and complexity.
