Yesterday the 4th of July, at the Hotel Marina H10 a new act of the INDESCAT lunches was held, dealing on this occasion on the 75th anniversary of La Molina ski station. The event began with a welcome from the Play & Train team , where they introduced the speakers Toni Sanmartí , director of the FGC Tourism and Mountain Division , and Xavier Perpinyà , director of La Molina , both with a extensive experience in the exploitation of Catalan ski resorts.
The presentation started talking about the history of La Molina, where they pointed out that 75 years ago the first commercial lift was inaugurated . The historical review ended with an important fact, where it was known that the station closed the best season in its history, with 380,000 visitors .
The second part of the presentation was about the strategic part of the station, where current problems were treated, such as seasonalisation . Future challenges for the station were also proposed, such as the global expansion of the La Molina brand, which could become a venue for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in the Pirineus - Barcelona bid.
To continue, attendees began to eat while discussing issues related to the expansion of the station , the segmentation of skiers, the impact of the station with the territory, the Olympic bid and the concern for the environment . The lunch ended with acknowledgments by the attendees and by the cluster manager of INDESCAT.
