INDESUP! promotes the best students' projects of sports management

Within the framework of the entrepreneurship programme INDESUP!, the SportsPitch session was held last 26th June at the Colet Museum. It is an open competition among the Master final projects of the different Catalan training centers that offer Sports Management Masters: Blanquerna, UPF Barcelona School of Management, Cruyff Institute and UB.

During the session, six students selected by the training centers themselves had the opportunity to present their master's final projects on the creation of a sports start-up. The jury was made up by experts in entrepreneurship, sports industry and innovation: Pere Munar ( Bioibérica ), Frank Hendricks ( Podoactiva ), Oriol Vinzia ( GymforLess ), Sergio Balcells ( JobToday ) and José Manuel Figueroa ( ICEB ). All five evaluated different aspects such as the viability of the business model, the capacity for innovation, the scalability or the possibilities of internationalization.

Three winning projects were chosen: BigSize Club (a gym for overweight people), from the students from BSM-UPF, Camins (a consultant for sports activities for the local level) from a student of Blanquerna, and Sportsurfing ( an online community of sportspeople for the exchange of accommodation for athletes looking for affordable accommodation abroad), from Cruyff Institute . The other finalists were Brava Swim, a tourism project linked to open water swimming, Mystical Mountains, an adventure travel operator for cyclists and motorbikes, and Sports Plus, a squash rental company and football pitches in the Honduran city of Tegucigalpa.
